About Me

Eric Ang
I have more than 35 years of guitar teaching experience and have been the Chief Guitar Instructor for Yamaha Music Malaysia from May 1995 to Dec 2008. My job includes training of teachers, conducting seminars, conducting Yamaha Higher and Lower Grade exams and workshops. I became the Grand Prix Winner in 1977 in the 1st Malaysian Guitar Festival organized by Yamaha Music and represented Malaysia in the South East Asian Guitar Festival in Jakarta the same year. The following year I was invited as a panel judge for the South East Asian Guitar Festival held in Bangkok. Thereafter I have been a judge for numerous State and National level Competitions. My most influential teacher was Tadashi Koizumi, who was a student of Jose Tomas (a student of Andre Segovia)
